Reverend Reinhold  Buxbaum, Pastor

THE WAY

Pastor Reinhold loves people and loves to tell them about the Lord Jesus Christ. He has a delightful sense of humor that often shows up in his sermons. Studying and teaching God`s Word are two more of his passions along with encouraging young couples and in their Christian walk and marriages. His desire is to see every individual  and family know the Lord and mature in Him.

He grew up in  a middle class home in Vienna, Austria.. At the age of 17 he moved to Ontario, Canada. After living in Canada for one year, the Lord led him to Briercrest Bible College, Saskatchewan.  Though Reinhold knows now it was God  leading him to Briercrest, he didnt really know Christ yet.  While at Briercrest he found the Lord Jesus Christ and was born again.

Soon after college, Reinhold married Renate and both were called to the mission field in Austria.  They ministered there for six  years. Afterwards they moved to Sebring, Florida, with their two children, Andrew and Rebecca. They are married 33 years and have been blessed with three grandchildren, soon to be four.

Not long after, the call of the mission field came again.  This time from Linz, Austria, where  Pastor Reinhold moved with his family ministering four years as Pastor of an 80  member church. God did many wonderful things in Linz especially  among the youth.

The Buxbaums returned to Sebring and settled here where their children attended HeartlandChristianSchool. Pastor Buxbaum also taught at the school for two years after which he began his own construction business building homes  in the HighlandsCounty.

For 13 years,  he was actively involved at BibleFellowshipChurch from its early beginnings in the Sebring High School library. Then in March, 1995, he became Associate Pastor. Throughout those years he  oversaw the Missions Committee, Christian Education along with counseling,  preaching, and many other duties.  His passion for missions was evident as he led many short-term mission  trips to Bolivia, Ecuador, Mexico, and Jamaica.

In July, 2006, God called Pastor Reinhold to start a new work in Sebring. The Lord woke him up one night and gave  him the name of the new church “ The Way “ of HighlandsCounty.

Without  delay, the Lord added key brothers and sisters to come alongside in ministry. Since August 6, 2006, the church is meeting  on Sundays at Dee`s Restaurant in downtown Sebring.
